Pack the Pew Sunday

Pack the Pew Sundays happen every 5th Sunday at Eylau United Methodist Church.

It begins with Sunday School for all ages at 9:45 a.m., and continues with our 5th Sunday Singing service at 11:00 a.m.  In addition members are encouraged to F-R-A-N-GELIZE each 5th Sunday by inviting Friends, Relatives, Associates and Neighbors to worship with us.

F-R-A-N-GELISM is another name for Evangelism and it's purpose is to “bring to life” the words in Matthew 28: 19-20 and Acts 1:8.

Matthew 28:19-20 - "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Acts 1:8- "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

The next 'Pack the Pew' Sunday is October 30, 2016.

Generosity

Road to A Generous Heart 2017

Key to Eylau UMC’s faithfulness in 2017 is that of individual and family Faith Commitments.  When God’s people were challenged with the vision of rebuilding the wall around Jerusalem, the Bible says the walls were posted by family groups and that each family had their own responsibility or work to complete (Nehemiah 4).  This is still true today.  In order for Eylau UMC to achieve her purpose to "Love God, Love Others and Serve God in the World" we must fund the 2017 operating and outreach budget.

If we have the vision to attract and retain new members through increased community outreach and the making of disciples of Jesus Christ, God will bless us with the financial resources we need to continue His work in the church, community, and world.  We commit together by faith to trust God to do what only He can do.  We want you to pray over every aspect of God’s vision for Eylau UMC.

Specifically, the commitments required to fulfilling our vision are:

1) Make the commitment do one or more of the following: Read the Bible daily, Read through the Bible once during the year, Develop a personal discipline of daily prayer, Read through the New Testament, pray daily for Eylau UMC’s mission, membership & staff.  No other commitment is more important for you and the church in achieving a generous and content heart.

2) Make the commitment to serve in one of Eylau’s internal ministries, committees, or teams to ensure we deliver a ministry that is pleasing to God and helps us better accomplish our mission.

3) Make the commitment to serve in at least two "Outreach Opportunities" to share the gifts and talents God has given you.

4) Make the commitment to help Eylau fully fund its operating budget for 2017 by giving generously and sacrificially of your financial resources which God has generously given to you by growing one step forward toward the goal of giving a full tithe.

5) Make a commitment to be a better evangelist, inviting friends, relatives, associates and neighbors to Sunday and weekday activities at Eylau UMC.

6) Make the commitment to be more deliberate in your faith in 2017 by becoming a member of Eylau United Methodist Church.

* Please feel free to visit with the pastor concerning your personal faith commitment, for suggestions on reading the Bible, Prayer, or serving in various ways at Eylau UMC.
