Small Groups

Agape CrossThe Agape Group

This NEW group is committed to praying for the Church and making Agape Crosses to be given as gifts in various Outreach and Evangelistic settings.

YOU are invited to come and make Agape Crosses with us.

When: Mondays @ 10 AM

Where: Classroom across from the Pastors’ Study.

John Wesley thought that every Christian should participate in a weekly “Class Meeting,” where attendees would have the opportunity to share the ways that God was working in their lives.

He would ask questions, like, “How is it with your soul?”   Wesley Wednesdays is a similar small group at Eylau UMC.

YOU are invited to join in a mid-week time of spiritual renewal.  First, we will share a short devotional and ask pertinent questions concerning our walk with the Lord.  And then, in typical Methodist fashion, we will continue our Christian fellowship over a meal at a local restaurant.  As we become more organized, we hope to post the restaurants on the church webpage ahead of time, so others may join in the fun!

For more information call the church office.  We hope to begin weekly meetings soon.

In John Wesley’s style of a weekly “Class Meeting,” Wesley Wednesdays has expanded to Sundays @ 9:45 AM.  This NEW small group will begin with a pastor led devotional, followed by an opportunity to talk about what’s going on in each of our lives, and how God fits into the picture.  The class should be a very good segue into our traditional worship service @ 11 AM.  And, of course, the small group will go by the name of Wesley Sundays.

Everyone, especially those not already plugged into a current Sunday School class, are invited to join with us in a time of spiritual renewal.  If you are already in a current Adult Sunday School class, praise God!  We only ask that your group pray for the new group.  Please pray that Wesley Sundays will become a viable conduit, which God can and will use to enrich and grow His church.

* All are invited to join this exciting accountability/spiritual enrichment group!

Team One is a group of individuals who are committed to praying regularly for changes that lead to health, growth, and the making of disciples of Jesus Christ.

Join us in this ministry to regularly and consistently implore God: to act and move through the Eylau UMC congregation, to make it a place of vital ministry, to have an impact upon the community, and to make a multitude of new disciples of Jesus Christ.

Team One may include only a few people, but size is not the issue.  The issue is finding individuals: Whose hearts are broken over the condition of the congregation, as well as, the needs of the community, AND who believe that it is God’s will that His church be used as a tool to reach out to others for Him.

Possibly God is calling you to be a part of this team!

The pastor will train team members to pray much more corporately than individually.  (Others in the congregation should be praying for individual saints and their needs).  This prayer team will view the congregation as a unit, a group of people that God desires to leverage for effective ministry.

  • Team One members will pray that the congregation embraces an outward-focused mission, bringing to the forefront, the spiritual needs of the community.

  • We will pray for a compelling vision that will motivate and drive the congregation to great acts of ministry.

  • We will pray that the congregation will see the urgency for such a mission and vision.

Remember, the purpose of Team One meetings is that of prayer and more prayer.  Training occurs through the focus on prayer.  If you would like to offer one hour a week (Mondays @ 10 AM) , please consider your place on this very important team.

People of all ages are invited to learn and grow in Christian Discipleship through our Sunday School classes. The group meets every Sunday morning at 9:45 AM.  We have two Adult Sunday School and/or Bible study classes each week, “The Seekers” and “The Friendly Builders.” These classes are great for everyone… from persons who need a table of contents to find their way through the Bible to those who can quote scripture.

Sunday School is offered for children/youth from elementary school through high school at 9:45 AM on Sunday mornings.  Our goal is simple: We want each and every young person to have the opportunity to know and experience God’s amazing love. Nurturing young people to become lifelong disciples of Christ is a mark we strive for in all of our Children and Youth activities.

The baby spot is a place provided just for our littlest friends (6mo. – 2yrs) every Sunday morning during Sunday School and Worship!  While you are deepening your walk the The Lord, they will be engaged in learning about Him through song, stories, and play.

The United Methodist Women’s group was formed as a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of church. The UMW offers ALL women opportunities for growth through programs, study and service. Our UMW members also participate in District and Conference events. The UMW group of women meets at 6:30 pm on the third Monday of the even numbered months.  All women are invited to attend.
